Coláiste Chríost Rí – A Presentation Brothers Schools Trust (PBST) school

Coláiste Chríost Rí is an evolving Christian community committed to the ministry of Catholic Education. We cherish highly an ethos based on Gospel values. We pursue especially academic and sporting excellence within a unique Gaelic culture and tradition. We seek to promote full participation in all aspects of school life, bringing about the balanced development of each person. Our vision is Christian and Gaelic.

On our school crest, these aspirations are encapsulated in the motto, "Adveniat Regnum Tuum". Go dtaga do Ríocht is an acknowledgement of the need for God's grace and power to be experienced as a strength in our personal lives and in our shared lives with others. The challenge for our culturing and Christening community is to respect the personal dignity of all, to value equally every person and to give pupils, parents and teachers a sense of belonging.

Central to this challenge, is our belief that in all aspects of education excellence is the basic ingredient in the ethos of Coláiste Chríost Rí. Our Curriculum tries to maintain a creative balance between preparation for the workplace and the development of the person. We acknowledge the decisive role of parents as partners with management and teachers in this educational endeavour.

First day for the First Years

The first day in secondary school is a huge day in anyone's life and is a special occasion. So today, we welcomed a new group of First Year students. They were all nervous to come to a new school having spent many years in their primary schools.

There was no need to worry and they did not take very long to settle in. So, in wishing each and every one of them the best for their time in Coláiste Chríost Rí and the future, we thank their parents and their primary schools. No doubt, these boys will go on to great things.

Just a simple bit of homework for all the lads concerned.....see if you can find yourself in the photograph here,  All the best and welcome to Coláiste Chríost Rí. Its a privelege to welcome you all.

Pictured is the Principal, Mr Micheál O Ciardha welcoming some of the new boys to the school this morning.

The last day in secondary school

The first day in secondary school is always an emotional day, with both parents  and students having great expectations for the future.

In August, we will welcome a new group of First Years but it's also important to acknowledge the last day in school for the students.

So, today, we snapped a few of the lads on their final moments in the school following the last exam in Leaving Cert.

After six years in the school, the  exams are over and its now a case of 'que sera, sera!!'

We thank the lads, and their parents,  for being a great group and we wish them every success in the future.

    Well done to all.
