Coláiste Chríost Rí – A Presentation Brothers Schools Trust (PBST) school
Coláiste Chríost Rí is an evolving Christian community committed to the ministry of Catholic Education. We cherish highly an ethos based on Gospel values. We pursue especially academic and sporting excellence within a unique Gaelic culture and tradition. We seek to promote full participation in all aspects of school life, bringing about the balanced development of each person. Our vision is Christian and Gaelic.
On our school crest, these aspirations are encapsulated in the motto, "Adveniat Regnum Tuum". Go dtaga do Ríocht is an acknowledgement of the need for God's grace and power to be experienced as a strength in our personal lives and in our shared lives with others. The challenge for our culturing and Christening community is to respect the personal dignity of all, to value equally every person and to give pupils, parents and teachers a sense of belonging.
Central to this challenge, is our belief that in all aspects of education excellence is the basic ingredient in the ethos of Coláiste Chríost Rí. Our Curriculum tries to maintain a creative balance between preparation for the workplace and the development of the person. We acknowledge the decisive role of parents as partners with management and teachers in this educational endeavour.

We have had a wonderful few days with the Health Activity Week ,organised by Ms Celine Mac Gabhann, Ms Ciara Nic Craith and Mr. Brian Ó Cochláin.
The Transition Years are pictured in the heat of battle with their Tarraingt Téide.
The 4th and 6th Years took part in a Tarraingt Téide as well (might be worth a Stewards Enquiry!!!)
There was also a soccer tournament for the 4th Years.
Overall the weather was great and the lessons of a healthy lifestyle were taken to heart.
Well done to all , between teachers and students
A special mention today for the lads who undertook their Agricultural Science Practical Interviews with the subject examiner as part of their coursework.
The room was specially arranged for the interviews and a special mention here for Ms Susan O Connell, the subject teacher.
We thank Susan for her great work here and we wish the lads all the best in their exam itself,
Its been a very successful month for Muintir Uí Liatháin from Ballygarvan. Firstly, Niall from 2nd Year, won the BioPharmChem Ireland Chemistry Award for his project on A2 milk at Scifest which was held in Cork Institute of Technology (C.I.T.) on the 21st of April. He was quickly followed by Aindrias , in Transition Year, who became the first student from Coláiste Chríost Rí to travel to Shanghai for the Chinese Language Easter Camp.
The entire school community is delighted with the achievements of these two brothers. In acknowledging the support of their teachers,( Ms Ciara McGrath who gave Niall incredible support in his science project as well as Mr Gearóid Ó Calnáin who helped Aindrias to organise his epic journey to the far east), we also recognise the contribution of their primary school, Ballygarvan National School, as well as their proud parents, Andrew and Mary.
Included in the photograph, below, , from left to right are, Gearóid Ó Calnáin Uas (Chinese Class coordinator), Aindrias O Liatháin, Micheál Ó Ciardha, Uas. (Príomhoide ), Niall Ó Liatháin and Ms Ciara Nic Craith (Niall's Science teacher).
Congratulations to all concerned,
