The Maths Department at Coláiste Chríost Rí is a lively group of highly committed and dedicated teachers. We aim to make learning Maths an enjoyable experience for our students of all ages and abilities within the school, and to engender a spirit of enquiry and a resourceful interest in the subject.
As a department, we share a philosophy and adopt common policies about our pupils' learning experiences in the subject. We use a variety of up-to-date teaching methods and resources to engage pupils and relate their mathematical knowledge to everyday life around them.
Presently, we are engaged in the introduction of Project Maths to our curriculum.

Here, in Coláiste Chríost Rí, the maths department involves our students in maths competitions which help to foster a positive attitude towards maths. The Team Challenges promote mathematical dexterity, team working, and communication skills. They also give students the opportunity to compete against pupils from other schools in their region. The team challenges are currently available for third years (πQuiz) and sixth years (Team Math). There is also a first year maths competition that caters for individual entries. The school has had great success in these competitions over the years.
