Giving opportunities to each student to discover and develop his particular talent is core to our philosophy of education in Coláiste Chríost Rí. We offer a wide range of extra and co-curricular activities to our students and everyone is encouraged to play a full part in the life of our school.

Basketball

After successes in the 80’s and early 90’s, basketball was resurrected in Coláiste Chríost Rí in 2010 following the building of the new state of the art school sports complex.

Drama

“The most exciting acting tends to happen in roles you never thought you could play.”
― John Lithgow

Gaelic Games – Hurling and Football

Gaelic games and Coláiste Chríost Rí are almost synonymous, with our school being one of the most successful GAA Colleges in the country. We strive to instil quality values in our players and insist that family always comes first, then their careers/study and then football.

Athletics

Coláiste Chríost Rí provides an excellent athletics programme and can proudly claim some of the greatest names in Irish Athletics as past pupils, Marcus O’Sullivan, Ken Nason and Charlie O-Donovan [Ireland’s most recent sub 4-minute miler] to name but a few.

Gym Club

Supervised ‘Gym Club’ our state-of-the-art exercise suite.

Horticulture Project

The students learn about planning, planting, composting and maintaining the crops. They learn about organic methods of horticulture, how to develop good soil, and how to set up their own raised beds at home.
