On Friday last we marked the graduation of the current Transition Year group with a special celebration of the Mass followed by the Presentation of Certificates. The occasion was attended by both Mr Micheál Ó Ciardha (Príomhoide), and Mr Daithí Ó hAodha (Leas Phriomhoide)
We were honoured that Fr. Damien O Mahony , Chaplain to the Mercy Hospital, and also an esteemed past pupil, was available to say the Mass. Fr Damien had also celebrated the Leaving Cert Graduation Mass on Thursday so to fit both occasions into a busy schedule is very much appreciated.
The occasion was also attended by many of the parents who also found time to come to the school on Friday. We thank them particularly.
The Transition Year is one of our most important Programmes in the school and the current group of students put in a great year.
The choir, conducted by Ms Lorraine Horrace, and ably supported by Mr Fergus Ó Dubhgháin, Mr Micheal de Faoite and Mr Padraig Mac an Rí embellished an already lovely occasion.
Following the Certificate Presentation Ceremony, (by Príomhoide Mr Micheál Ó Ciardha) a separate presentation was made by the students to Mr C Ó Foghlu in his last role as Programme Coordinator before he takes over another responsibility in the school. The school commends the students especially here as considerable effort was made by Eolann de Faoite in particular to source the gifts in the presentation to Mr Ó Foghlú.
Finally, we wish these great lads every success as they enter Fifth Year. We are sure they will achieve great things in the future.

Over the past week we have been visited by a number of 5th class Primary School children as part of our 'Chriost Rí Welcoming Programme'
The young students were accompanied by their teachers and they really enjoyed the experience of visiting a secondary school, where they took part in a number of class activities.
Our team of School Mentors helped make them all welcome and were an invaluable source of information and guidance to the younger students.
Pictured here are a number of the Mentors themselves.
They were a credit to their families, their school and to Ms Cryan who guided and advised them,
Well done lads here. We are very proud of you all.

Míle Buíochas , lads,
During the past week there has been a History Exhibition in the Library based on the years 1916 to 1923.
It was very impressive and well viewed.
Our thanks to Mr Paul McGrath who arranged and organised the exhibition.
Pictured here are two students from 3rd Year , Darren Mac Sheoin and Stíofán Ó Murchú, who were also taking part in a No-Uniform Day in aid of St Vincent de Paul.
Well done to everyone concerned with both events.
Finally, we got he Transition Yeas together following their tournament.
Well done to all concerned today.
Ba dheacair é a shárú - It would be hard to beat that today
