    Departure of Br Patrick Fitzgibbon

It was with a genuine sense of regret that we have said farewell , for now at least, to Br Patrick Fitzgibbon.
Br Patrick has taken up a new role as Assistant Provincial of the Presentation Brothers Order and has had to relinquish his duties in Coláiste Chríst Rí.
Our school has always been informed by the Ethos of the Presentation Brothers, who founded Coláiste Chríost Rí in 1960. Since then we have been very fortunate to have had a number of Brothers among us.
Br Patrick was the latest Brother in that tradition and his loss to the school is immense.
He was involved in all facets of school life, from his Chaplaincy role to training the hurlers.
We cannot remember the last match he missed but beyond that Br Pa was constantly available to take our students all over the country and the world in fact.
The students have travelled to Knock for a meeting with the Papal Nuncio, and even as far as Ghana, where we presented much needed funds and resources to the Presentation Brothers Mission there. In October las,t we travelled to Toronto to a Presentation Brothers school, St Peter Brebeufs.
While the staff will all miss him, the students will particularly feel his loss as he was a constant support to them.
We congratulate Br Patrick on this most eminent position and in wishing him every success, we sincerely hope that he will continue to regularly visit us.
Guimíd gach rath ar a shaol agus ar a shaothar agus gabhaimid gach buíochas as ucht a chuid oibre ar son na scoile

A Special Thanks to our Mentors

Over the past week we have been visited by a number of 5th class Primary School children as part of our 'Chriost Rí Welcoming Programme'

The young students were accompanied by their teachers and they really enjoyed the experience of visiting a secondary school, where they took part in a number of class activities.

Our team of School Mentors helped make them all welcome and were an invaluable source of information and guidance to the younger students.

Pictured here are a number of the Mentors themselves.

They were a credit to their families, their  school  and to Ms Cryan who guided and advised them,

Well done lads here. We are very proud of you all.

    History Exhibition

During the past week there has been a History Exhibition in the Library based on the years 1916 to 1923.

It was very impressive and well viewed.

Our thanks to Mr Paul McGrath who arranged and organised the exhibition.

Pictured here are two students from 3rd Year , Darren Mac Sheoin and Stíofán Ó Murchú, who were also taking part in a No-Uniform Day in aid of St Vincent de Paul.

Well done to everyone concerned with both events.
