On Saurday next 27th of January, we will welcome the current 6th Class students for assessment.
In terms of the day , we would ask parents and guardians to note the following points.
There has been a great response to the new Computer Coding Class in the school recently.
The programme has been administered by Ms Christine O'Hara-Lyons and has been in operation since before Christmas.
In the class, which takes place each Monday after school, the students study three central components. These are Scratch , which helps develop programming skills and logic, HTML, which is very important in web development and Python, which is used in Maths, Science and Engineering.
This is a great initiative and , judging from the picture here, with Ms O'Hara-Lyons and the lads hard at work, it is working extremely well.
We thank Christine for her great work here and we wish everyone concerned all the best in the future.
We were honoured today to receive a visit from Diarmaid O Briain who recently was awarded with an MA Excellence Scholarship to study for a Masters Degree in Langiuages and Cultures. in Unversity College Cork.
As with all of our scholarship students, this award was thoroughly deserved as Diarmaid has always been great student and a wondefrul ambassador for the school.
Pictured above with Mr Daithí Ó hAodha ,Leas Phríomhoide, Diarmuid progresses with his studies with the congratulations and admiration of the entire school community.
We sincerely congratulate Diarmaid as well as acknowledging his family whose support for the school over the many years has been immense.
On Friday last, we had a Christmas jumper day but one man stole the show completely.
Joe Hegarty really got into the Christmas Spirit and was the best dressed man by a mile !!!
Judge for yourself how well he did in the picture here with Micheál O Ciardha , Príomhoide , both in the winter sunshine!!
As we come up to Christmas, we would just like to wish everybody involved in the Coláiste Chríost Rí community the very best for Christmas and New Year.
One of the Transition Year students, Nathan Sugrue who ha a real talent for film making has put together the video here and we thank Nathan for this.
To everyone, A Happy Christmas and a healthy New Year ahead
