We are particularly honoured to publish the photograph below.
Here, either side of Mr Micheál Ó Ciardha, Príomhoide, are two Coláiste Chríost Rí students who have achieved wonderful scholarship success recently.
On the left is Charlie O Donovan who has just signed his Scholarship contract with Villanova University in Philadelphia, arguably the premier athletics university in the USA. Charlie, as well as being a champion athlete, is a humble and articulate young man , one of whom we are immensely proud. First up for Charlie is the Leaving Cert which he will sit in June 2018. We wish him, and his family every success as his career progresses.
Meanwhile, on the right is Barry Lynch, who last week was awarded a UCC Quercus Entrance Scholarship on the basis of his 2017 Leaving Certificate results. Barry is another outstanding character and his academic achievements are matched only by his general positive approach to everything he does.
Needless to say, we are immensely proud of both men and we have no doubt that they will progress in their chosen careers both sporting and academic.
The winners of the UCC Science Competition , Cork Region will go on to the main national competition in Dublin.
We congratulate the, students, their science teachers in the school over the years as well as Ms Susan O Connel.

The school had a wonderful achievement last week when our Senior Science Team , under the expert guidance of Ms. Susan O Connell, won the Cork Regional Heat of the U.C.C. Science Competition, as part of Science Week 2017.
This is yet another great success for the school and in commending the lads and their parents, we particularly congratulate Ms O Connell whose efforts and achievements here are remarkable.
Pictured below are the entire panel of young scientists. We actually entered three teams in all.
The winners were Luke Quigley, Michal Szarkowicz and Max Chopivskyy.
Our second team of Josh Burton, Saroj Khatari, Luke Hanley and Cathal McGreal finished ninth , followed closely by Tomás Manning, Paul Barry and Ucha Naradishvilli in eleventh.
This was undoubtedly the reward for many hours of hard work and we are very proud of everyone involved.
We are absolutely honoured today that one of the 2017 Leaving Cert Class, Barry Lynch, has been awarded a UCC Quercus Entrance Scholarship on the basis of his Leaving Certificate results.
A presentation will be made to Barry by President of University College Cork, Professor Patrick O Shea, another of our esteemed past pupils, on November 28th.
We are immensely proud of Barry.
Not only is he a diligent and earnest student, he is a geuine 'all-rounder'.
He visited the European Parlaiment (meeting MEP Mr Sean Kelly) as part of his Transition Year in 2015. This visit is pictured below with Barry , on the bottom left of this picture alongside some of his class as well as teachers Gavin and Kevin Foley.
He also delivered the introductory sppech to the incoming First Year Students at our Open NIght.
We congratulate Barry and his family for this momentous achievement. We thank him for his contribution to the life of Coláiste Chríost Rí and we wish him every success in his future endeavours.
