There was a time when students came to school by bicycle or car.
Here we see Sean Kiely , from Ballyfeard, breaking new ground.
It brings a whole new meanig to 4x4!!!!
We are delighted, as well as extremely proud, of the achievements of Charlie O Donovan, who is now the All -Ireland Schools Senior Boys 1500 metre Champion. He is the first student in the school's history to achieve this unique feat.
Charlie is developing into an elite athlete and this was proven last weekend, when , in Tullamore, Charlie won the 'Irish Milers Club Irish Schools 1,500 Metres Champions Cup'.
This is a wonderful achievement and all concerned are justifiably proud of him.
We congratulate Charlie himself as he is a credit to himself, his school and his parents, Michelle and Reynolds, as well as to Ken Nason of Leevale Athletics Club.
We also acknowledge the great work of his school coaches Brendan Crowley , Alan Haynes , Barry Kelly and the late Eoin Deasy.
We wish Charlie all the very best in his future athletics career.

On Friday last we marked the graduation of the current Transition Year group with a special celebration of the Mass followed by the Presentation of Certificates. The occasion was attended by both Mr Micheál Ó Ciardha (Príomhoide), and Mr Daithí Ó hAodha (Leas Phriomhoide)
We were honoured that Fr. Damien O Mahony , Chaplain to the Mercy Hospital, and also an esteemed past pupil, was available to say the Mass. Fr Damien had also celebrated the Leaving Cert Graduation Mass on Thursday so to fit both occasions into a busy schedule is very much appreciated.
The occasion was also attended by many of the parents who also found time to come to the school on Friday. We thank them particularly.
The Transition Year is one of our most important Programmes in the school and the current group of students put in a great year.
The choir, conducted by Ms Lorraine Horrace, and ably supported by Mr Fergus Ó Dubhgháin, Mr Micheal de Faoite and Mr Padraig Mac an Rí embellished an already lovely occasion.
Following the Certificate Presentation Ceremony, (by Príomhoide Mr Micheál Ó Ciardha) a separate presentation was made by the students to Mr C Ó Foghlu in his last role as Programme Coordinator before he takes over another responsibility in the school. The school commends the students especially here as considerable effort was made by Eolann de Faoite in particular to source the gifts in the presentation to Mr Ó Foghlú.
Finally, we wish these great lads every success as they enter Fifth Year. We are sure they will achieve great things in the future.
