Rí-Connect Night a Success

The 50th Anniversary Dinner of Coláiste Chríost Rí took place in style at the Rochestown Park Hotel in Cork last Friday night. Over 200 guests attended and old acquaintances were renewed. The occasion also signaled the revival of the CCR past-pupils union.

CCRí Boys Raise over €7,500 for Haiti

CCRí Transition Year students organised a soccer marathon last Thursday (January 28th 2010) in support of the Haiti Earthquake Fund. They played football through the night. They have now collected over €7,500!!

School to re-open on Wednesday 13th January

Following an improvement in the weather and a thaw of snow and ice on roads in Cork city and county, Coláiste Chríost Rí will re-open on Wednesday 13th January, 2010. In the meantime drive safely!

School Closure Information-Monday 11th January 2010 to Wednesday 13th 2010

Following the instructions of the Minister For Education and Science that all primary schools and secondary schools in Ireland will remain closed from Monday 11th to Wednesday 13th January 2010, Coláiste Chríost Rí will be closed on those dates and is scheduled to re-open on Thursday 14th January at normal times. Any change to the arrangements for Thursday 14th will be publicised here and Parents will be notified by text message.

Past Students Gala Dinner

 
The Coláiste Chríost Rí Past Pupils union will be holding a dinner to celebrate the school’s 50th Anniversary on Friday 12th of February 2010 in Rochestown Park Hotel. School Re-opens January 7th

Coláiste Chríost Ri wil re-open after the Christmas break on January 7th 2010. We are pleased to inform the school community that despite adverse weather our water and heating facilities are functioning as normal. Therefore, classes will  resume as normal at 08.30 hrs on Thursday 7th January. Happy New Year to all!

World Athletics Champion Visits Alma Mater

 Three times world athletics champion Marcus O' Sullivan  paid a visit to Coláiste Chríost Rí today and gave a very motivating talk to the schools sports athletes and Transition year students. His message was to follow your dreams and don't be afraid of failure". Críost Rí athletes are current Munster Junior athletics champions.
 

School for all on Monday 30th November

We are pleased to announce that all classes will resume on Monday 30th November 2009. Individuals are advised bring their own drinking water.

School Closure Information- For Friday 27th November 2009

 Unfortunately, Coláiste Chríost Rí is still without water as a result of the recent flooding of Cork city and will. therefore, remain closed on Friday 27th November, 2009.
Information regarding arrangements for Monday 30th November 2009 will be posted here on Sunday 29th. Parents will also be contacted by text message.

School Closure Information- As a result of floods/water shortage

CCR was open today for exam classes only. While the school is without water supply the stored water allowed these classes to proceed but would not have been enough to sustain a full complement of students.
 
Unfortunately, the stored water ran out later today and, consequently, all classes will be cancelled tomorrow (Thursday 26th November).
 
A decision about classes for Friday 27th November will be made tomorrow and parents will receive a text about this. It will also appear on this website News Page.
