Board of Management

Coláiste Chríost Rí is managed by a Board of Management which is committed to the successful implementation of recent education legislation, in particular the Education Act 1998, the Education (Welfare) Act 2000 and the Equal Status Act 2000. The Board fully subscribes to the underlying principles of the legislation: partnership, accountability, transparency, inclusion, respect for diversity, parental choice and equality.

Coláiste Chríost Rí is a voluntary secondary school which operates within the regulations laid down by the Department of Education and Skills, following the curricular programmes prescribed by the said Department and which may be amended from time to time in accordance with Sections 9 and 30 of the Education Act 1998.
Management is committed to a policy of continuous review and updating of procedures and practices to the benefit of the whole school community.

The Board of Management is comprised of two Parents’ nominees, two staff nominees and four nominees from the Trustees.

Parents Council

Coláiste Chríost Rí has a very active Parents’ Council. Representatives of each year group are elected to the council at an Annual General meeting held in the Autumn of each year.

Voluntary Contribution to the School

The board of Coláiste Chríost Rí does not charge fees for or seek payment or contributions as a condition of:
1. An application for admission of a student to the school, or 
2. The admission or continued enrolment of a student in the school. 

Notwithstanding the above provision, once a Parent/Guardian of a student has been offered and has accepted a place in the school, they will be invited to make a voluntary contribution of €250 per child for first year and €170 per child per annum for every other year to cover the cost of added services such as extra-curricular activities, sports activities, travel to extra-curricular activities, photocopying and other similar services for which the Department of Education and Skills does not provide funding. The rate decreases for second and third children attending the school.
