Alumni Society
Thousands of students have passed through the doors of Coláiste Chríost Rí since it first opened its doors on Capwell Road.
Every student brought with them their dreams and ambitions, and used the education provided by the Presentation Brothers to set them up for life.
“Chríost Rí – one of the most outstanding schools in this country in sport, culture, athletics and in the world of academia.”
An Taoiseach Micheál Martin T.D. (Past pupil)
The Coláiste Chríost Rí Alumni Society was established in the 1990s to establish how far the student body has travelled since graduation. The boys of Chríost Rí have become the men of science, medicine, politics, sport, commerce, arts and more.
They have risen through the ranks to take positions of leadership nationally and globally. They have supported their communities and their families. Chríost Rí taught them that their potential was something that could be reached, even when they doubted themselves.
The Coláiste Chríost Rí Alumni Society meets every three months and invites former students to tell their story, and share memories of the time they spent on Capwell Road. The informal gatherings also invite teachers past and present to share (and test) their memories, and give an insight of what it was like to look down from the top of the classroom.
The current meetings are co-ordinated by a group of former students, namely Fionnán O’Sullivan, David O’Donnell, Jonathan Healy, Jeremy Hayes and Oscar Darmody.
Details of meetings are posted on the group’s Facebook page: Coláiste Chríost Rí Alumni
As well as an opportunity to revive old friendships, the popular events also raise funds to support the school’s Breakfast Club.
