Learning Support Department
Coláiste Chríost Rí is an inclusive community and the Board of Management is supportive of students with disabilities and with special educational needs. The Principal, together with the teachers and Special Needs Assistants, strive to enable students in receipt of support to fulfil their academic, cultural, social and physical potential.
In Chríost Rí we have a core team of qualified support teachers and Special Needs Assistants who engage in collaborative planning, assessment and implementation of the support provision. Support is provided to students appropriate to their professionally identified needs through a continuum of support as recommended by the National Educational Psychological Service. Teaching support may be provided in one to one tuition, small class groups or in-class support. The Special Needs Assistants provide essential supports both within and outside the classroom.
Applications for reasonable accommodations in both the Junior and Leaving Certificate Examinations are prepared in accordance with the criteria specified by the State Examinations Commission.
