We offer a broad range of subjects to engage and encourage the learning, growth and development of all our students. Subject choices range from the academic through to technical (practical), business, science and humanities. All levels catered for, and emphasis is put on developing in students a wide range of skills and knowledge to equip them for further education and life after secondary school.

Academic Excellence

We have an outstanding reputation and track record for academic and educational excellence over the last 60 years with scholarships and awards won every year by our students. 85% + of our Leaving Cert students go on to 3rd level education in UCC, CIT, UL, MIC and 3rd level colleges in Dublin. The development of student’s intellectual and physical potential, along with nurturing the talents and interests of each student is an integral part of the holistic education offered by Coláiste Chríost Rí. We plan and work very hard to ensure that our educational programmes are designed to offer students the most up to date and relevant knowledge/skills, which open up career paths and opportunities to them for their futures.

Inclusion

We offer a wide range of subjects and extra-curricular activities to cater for the individual needs of all students. We are very proud of the wide range of ethnic origins and nationalities within our student cohort. All our students are valued and respected for their individual talents, interests and abilities. SEN support is integrated into mainstream classes where possible. Student needs are assessed on an individual basis and their timetables are personalised to reflect this. Where possible Team Teaching is used to ensure students can remain in regular classes. Lessons are adapted and differentiated with a focus on effective questioning and assessment for learning.

Student Support

Each member of the Coláiste Chríost Rí school community is encouraged to make a contribution to the life of our school. To enable our students in this regard, weekly meetings of our student support/pastoral care team ensure that each student has the supports necessary to meet all of his needs.
