Art
Art provides a unique part of the education of the whole person, through heart, head and hand. At Chríost Rí we aim to cultivate in our art students an understanding of the various aspects of Art Craft & Design while developing their skills in imaginative thinking, creativity and problem solving. We aim to instill in the student a practical understanding of and competence in the principles and skills underlying visual and constructional design and problem solving in areas such as Graphic Design, Drawing, Painting, Colour Theory, Print, Sculpture, Ceramics and Art History & Appreciation.

Physics
What is Physics? The Leaving Cert physics course follows directly from Junior Cert Science and covers more topics in greater depth. The course is heavily based around experiments; students are required to complete and write reports on 24 practical experiments throughout the two years.
SPHE
Social, Personal and Health Education (SPHE) is offered at Junior Certificate level, from years 1-3 inclusive and is an integral part of the Wellbeing programme in our school.
Design and Communication Graphics
Coláiste Chríost Rí has installed a state-of-the-art Design Communications Graphics Room. It is acknowledged by many as one of the best in the country.
ICDL
Students that are digitally literate will enjoy an enriched educational experience and will be better prepared for life, for work, and further learning.
Learning Support
Coláiste Chríost Rí is an inclusive community and the Board of Management is supportive of students with disabilities and with special educational needs. The Principal, together with the teachers and Special Needs Assistants, strive to enable students in receipt of support to fulfil their academic, cultural, social and physical potential.
Biology
Biology is the study of Life – the study of living things. All students study Biology as part of their Junior Certificate Science subject. Students can choose to take Biology for Leaving Certificate to study the subject in greater detail.
Maths
The Maths Department at Coláiste Chríost Rí is a lively group of highly committed and dedicated teachers. We aim to make learning Maths an enjoyable experience for our students of all ages and abilities within the school, and to engender a spirit of enquiry and a resourceful interest in the subject.
Technical Graphics
What is Technical Graphics? Technical Graphics is one of the technology subjects offered at junior cycle. In Technical Graphics, you will learn how to represent 3-D objects on paper and on computer.
History
The study of history encourages us to deepen our historical perspective and knowledge of the past. It provides insights into human behaviour and of how our modern world has evolved.

French
In the French Department we seek to produce a proficiency in the language and develop an understanding and appreciation of French culture. Students’ experience of French will be stimulating, positive and enjoyable. Teachers in the French Department aim to create an ongoing interest in learning.
Programmes & Levels
French is taught for the Junior Certificate Programme, Transition Year Programme and the Leaving Certificate Programme. The subject is taught at a common level in Junior Cycle and higher and ordinary level in Senior Cycle.
Guidance and Counselling
Guidance and Counselling aims to build a structure of professional knowledge and career skills on foundations already acquired by students.
